mounted snowblower for LX277 aws

i just bought a JD LX277 aws, i didn't buy the snow at this time because it was only a 42" single stage blower.
I have read that they are great in deep heavy snow but suck in lesser amounts. Does anyone have any comments on this setup?... of course i would outfit the tractor with chains and weights.....My driveway is approx, 500' with a turn around......would it be worth the $1300 the dealer quoted
any comments be appreciated
